Your Child’s First Visit

No child is too young for a pediatric dental visit! The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends children visit the dentist by the age of one, and every six months after that for a regular checkup and professional teeth cleaning. Little Smiles Pediatric Dentistry introduces children to the concept of visiting the dentist on a regular schedule. We respect children and understand their fear and anxiety, and we try to make dental visits fun and enjoyable. Our care is gentle, considerate, and sensitive to your child’s unique personality and needs.

Your child’s first appointment will last approximately 30-60 minutes and includes an exam, dental x-rays (if needed), and time to sit down and talk with your doctor. We will discuss your child’s health history, normal growth and development of the teeth and jaw, and healthy habits to encourage at home. Please use this appointment to ask questions about your child’s oral health and how to best take care of your child’s developing teeth in between office visits.

Tell, Show, Do

Our Tell, Show, Do technique is a huge success! As you might have guessed, this technique encourages your child’s participation and interest in their appointment. Tell, Show, Do makes dental visits educational and meaningful, and inspires conversations with our dentist, hygienists, assistants, and our office team. Your child will look forward to their appointment at Little Smiles!

Scheduling an Appointment

Scheduling your child’s visit is easy! Appointments are available for returning and new patients. Simply call the office or complete the online Contact Us form. We are open extended hours and on certain Saturdays during the school year.

Prior to your first visit, please fill out our Health History Form using our secure, online system.

Dental Insurance

Our office accepts most PPO dental insurances and we verify coverage and file claims for you. If treatment is needed, we provide a cost estimate, so you’ll know your out-of-pocket financial responsibility. Please bring your child’s dental insurance information with you to your first appointment.

To make the check-in process simple, please download and complete our new patient paperwork and bring it with you to your child’s appointment.
